Dr. Antony Harwood - President & CEO & Director
Dr. Tony Harwood is an economic geologist with 30 years of international exploration and mining experience and graduated from University of Wales, College Cardiff, with a B.Sc. (Honours) degree and Ph.D in Economic Geology. Dr. Harwood was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Montero Mining & Exploration in June, 2009. Between 2006 and 2009, Dr. Harwood held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Africo Resources Ltd., a Canadian company engaged in exploring, acquiring and developing base metal and gold assets in Africa. Between 2000 and 2006, Dr. Harwood served as a Vice President of Placer Dome Inc., a major Canadian gold mining company. Other professional credits include positions as a Director of Adamus Resources and Auryx Gold Corp. and former founder and MD of Harwood International Ltd., a geological consulting company. Dr. Harwood additionally held a position as a lecturer - University of Wales, Cardiff (UK), University of Natal and University of Durban (South Africa).
Toni Chapman - CFO, Corporate Secretary & Director
Toni Chapman has 20 years financial and administration financial experience in Africa for South African and Canadian companies and has a Management Advanced program diploma from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. She is currently CFO - Oryx Mining and Exploration Ltd., and other professional edits include the former CFO - Tri Origin Exploration Ltd., a consultant to Placer Dome, South Africa and former Business Administrator Director for Bastillion Group of Companies.
Greg Hall - Director
Greg Hall is a seasoned geologist with over 35 years of international experience. His past credits include former Chief Geologist - Placer Dome Group. Over the course of his illustrious career, Mr. Hall had a senior role in the discoveries of both Barrick Gold's Granny Smith mine and Rio Tinto's Yandi iron ore mine. In addition, he took part in the discoveries of Keringal and Wallaby in Australia's Eastern Goldfields, as well as the definition of AngloGold Ashanti's Sunrise gold mine. Mr. Hall holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
David Hodgson - Director
David Hodgson has been active in the mining industry for over 40 years. He spent over 27 years working with the Anglo American and De Beers group of companies before moving to AngloGold Ashanti in 1998, until his retirement in April 2005. David served as Executive Director and CEO for Anglogold Ashanti overseeing 22 gold operations in 11 countries worldwide, producing some 6 million ounces of gold per annum. He has previously served as General Manager for Freegold and Western Deep Levels. David currently serves as a non-Executive Director of African Barrick Gold, Auryx Gold Corporation. He holds as B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, a B.Sc. Mining (Honours) from the Royal School of Mines in London, a B.Comm. (Majoring in Economics and Business Economics) from UNISA in South Africa and attended an Advanced Management Program at Harvard University in the USA.
Andrew Thomson - Director
Andrew Thomson has 15 years of experience in mineral exploration in Central America and is an entrepreneur who has actively explored in Mexico and Honduras and Panama since 1993. His past credits include former President of Link Mineral Ventures Ltd. and Azul Resources (Bermuda) Ltd. and Mr. Thomson is currently President and CEO of Soltoro Ltd, a junior mining and exploration company focused on expanding a primary silver resource at its El Rayo property in Mexico. Mr. Thomson serves as a Director for Gossan Resources Ltd.
Michael Wolley - Director
Michael Wolley has over 20 years of international experience in senior management roles in the resources and industrial sectors. Michael served as Chief Operating Officer for Lynas Corporation where he was responsible for the operational organization of the Company’s mining and processing of rare earths in Western Australia and downstream minerals processing in Malaysia. Other senior roles with industrial and construction businesses across Asia Pacific include; President of Bluescope Steel China (formerly BHP Steel), General Manager Operations for Dexion (Australia) Pty Ltd., Manufacturing Manager for WR Grace, Cryovac Packaging and 14 years of experience in various roles with Mobil Oil Australia. Michael is the Chairman for Red Mountain Mining Ltd., an ASX listed company with China based gold assets. He has a B.Eng Honours Degree (Chemical and Materials) from Auckland University and a Masters of Management Degree from Macquarie Graduate School of Management. Professional Designations include memberships to the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Michael is currently serving as VP Corporate Development for Todd Corporation, a New Zealand based conglomerate with substantial interests in oil and gas.
